Other than sending electronic claims, Office Ally can:
Look for errors in the claim
Errors in the billing, format, procedure codes, diagnosis codes, and other information can be detected by Office Ally. If there are errors found, this clearinghouse will not send the claim to the insurance. Claims with errors will be rejected.
Proof of Timely Filing (POTF)
Once a claim is sent and received by the insurance, this can be viewed in the clearinghouse. If the insurance denies our claims for timely filing reasons, we can send a screenshot of the insurance receiving the claim (on time) through Office Ally.
Check for claims that are tagged as NO CLAIM ON FILE.
There are many instances wherein the insurance would indicate that there is NO CLAIM ON FILE (NCOF) for the claims that we have sent to them. When this happens, we must always double-check this issue in the clearinghouse. If the claim has been rejected and therefore not sent to the insurance, we should be able to identify this. The clearinghouse would also show the reason for the issue to be fixed.
