The three office visits below are the most common diagnostic office visits we encounter in our facility. Please keep in mind that we may encounter many other office visits in billing. These diagnostic procedures can be done twice a year or every 6 months (on most insurance plans). Please make sure that the patient is eligible for such an office visit. For example, if a provider billed D0150 which is a dental office visit for a new patient, please make sure that there was no prior visit within the three years. If the provider used D0145, kindly check the date of birth and the age of the patient as this code is dependent on the patient's age. Also, when we bill office visits, let's keep in mind the coverage frequency and treatment history, as we do not want to bill procedures that will not be paid by the insurance because of frequency limitation. Since office visits are very common in billing, let's follow the rules and guidelines to avoid piling up denials in the facility we are dealing with.
