Dental codes for build up:
- D2950 – Build up
- D2954 – Pre-fab Post and Core
A Core Buildup is given for teeth with significant loss of coronal tooth structure due to caries or trauma in which insufficient tooth structure remains to adequately retain an Indirect Restoration
It is a restorative procedure where a missing portion of the tooth is restored with a dental filling material in order to support a crown restoration.
Core Buildup is not given for the following:
- As a filler to correct irregularities in preparation
- As a definitive composite or amalgam restoration
- For retention of intracoronal restorations
